There are SO MANY movies coming out this week. Most of them are only in select cities and/or on streaming services. Rest assured, I skimmed through all of these trailers and if you don’t see any of these films you’ll probably be alright.

The Case For Christ
From the studio that brought you God’s Not Dead. If an atheist journalist (ugh, double whammy am I right?!???!) can be convinced to believe in Christianity, it must be legit. Checkmate, atheists.

Going In Style
It’s been a while since there was a movie about old men being humorously mischievous. Going In Style is here to show that it’s always too soon for another one. Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, and Alan Arkin. Three of the most likable old men in the biz. Maybe this movie can get by on their charm alone.

Smurfs: The Lost Village
Smurfs do Smurf stuff.

Limited and On Demand Releases

Colossal
Anne Hathaway gets dumped by her boyfriend, then learns that she has some measure of control over a kaiju terrorizing South Korea. Seems like a fair trade.

Extraordinary Mission
A new film from some of the people that made Infernal Affairs. It looks cool.

Gifted
The old “should I nurture my smart kid’s natural talent or try to force them to be more like a regular kid” thing.

Mine
Military dude steps on a land mine and has to stay stepped on it for a few days while he waits for backup to deactivate the mine.

Alive and Kicking
Swing dancing documentary.

The Eyes
Oh hey, Big Pussy from The Sopranos is in this. Looks terrible.

Graduation

Your Name
Anime.

The Void
Looks like it’s going for the It Follows/Stranger Things vibe. Could be okay.

Truman
Two European looking guys and a dog go on a grand adventure, probably.
